From 1 April 2024, Crown Commercial Services are including an option contract schedule for suppliers as part of their procurement process. The schedule refers to carbon reduction initiatives, carbon reduction plans and environmental and sustainability standards.
The carbon reduction contract schedule is optional and can be added in by the public sector procurer and their procurement department.
A Berkshire-based tender and bid writing specialist is offering clients a free baseline exercise to help them understand the steps they need to take to comply with the new contract schedule.
Director of Tender Response, Vicky Poole said:
“We know that most government entities are struggling to achieve their Carbon Zero target date, so we expect that most procurements will include this new schedule moving forward. So, for any organisation looking to bid for government contracts, a carbon reduction plan is going to be essential.
“Our goal at Tender Response is to take the hassle out of the tender process and so we’re pleased to be able to offer a free consultation for anyone who wants to complete a baseline carbon reduction plan exercise.”

At Tender Response, we understand that navigating new government systems can be daunting—especially when they directly impact your ability to bid for public sector contracts. With the introduction of the Procurement Act 2023, many suppliers are unsure how to access critical information like their PPON or generate a Share Code. That’s why we’ve created this […]
