Carbon Impact – How businesses need to track and report on their Carbon Emissions

WHEN: Wed, 22 May 2024 12:30 – 13:30 BST

How do companies complete their carbon accounting, monitoring and tracking?

What’s best practice and what are you regulated to do?

Welcome to our online event where we will discuss the importance of tracking and reporting carbon emissions for businesses. This is particularly important for businesses selling into the public sector…

All businesses selling to the Public Sector have to have a Carbon Reduction plan and it’s often required as part of the tender response.

Now… from April 2024 you need to report on it too. Filing annual reports and issuing zero carbon certificates can be a chore and how do you know that you’re doing what is the right thing to do?

Look no further – this event is for you.

    Greg Gormley, Skoot CEO

After training as an accountant for Smith and Williamson, Greg went onto work for the UK technology arm of News Corporation leading to a floatation onto Nasdaq during the dot.com boom. Head hunted to join CME, a leading Nasdaq listed Television business focussed across Central Europe, he spent time between the TV stations leading strategy and operations. After leaving the Corporate world in 2003 Greg set up various businesses ranging from consulting for SME’s to starting a fintech business. This changed on the 22 June 2018 when he was airlifted to hospital after a car hit him on his motorbike where he spent sometime in recovery. Lying on his hospital bed he realised that his obituary would have read “he works hard” but not really much else. To this Greg wanted to created something with more mission and purpose which resulted in the birth of SkootEco – a platform helping businesses and consumers fight against climate change.

    About SKOOT

SKOOT started life as a carbon-negative social mobility business. However, whilst on that journey we saw an opportunity to create a platform with a mission to:

    • Empower businesses and their customers to become climate positive
    • Provide easy-to-use tools that make it simple for people and businesses to do something today.
    • Celebrate all the small actions we can take to make a huge positive impact, with a mantra that: ‍”one tree is better than no tree”

What our clients say about us

Vicky helped me to qualify a grant that I was exploring for my business. I found her approach to be simple straightforward and I'm actually arranging for Vicky to be a speaker at an event I'm organising at the UK Africa trade Expo in March of 2024 to educate people to educate my peers and and organisations that will be present. I can't sing her praise highly enough she's an absolutely absolutely wonderful wealth of experience.
